    Severe Thunderstorm Watch

Here it is on the approach to our neck of the woods as the sky overhead darkens...nothing too distressing as of yet.

The storms which effect us later tonite are not on radar yet according to the experts.

    Severe Thunderstorm Watch

    Issued at 10:51 Monday 04 September 2017
Conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing damaging wind gusts.

An approaching cold front is expected to trigger thunderstorms after 2 pm and into the early evening hours. The potential exists for several of these thunderstorms to produce severe weather with winds in excess of 100 km/h being the primary threat.

    ###

Very strong wind gusts can damage buildings, down trees and blow large vehicles off the road. Intense lightning is likely with any thunderstorm that develops. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes.

Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to [email protected] or tweet reports using #ONStorm.

    Snow Squall Watch Continues

The streamers are moving through & when they do it gets pretty wild out there!

It has been a very windy day with gust in excess of 50kph & therefore very low windchill values hovering near or at zero degrees fahrenheit.

Windy, sub zero windchill values will persist through the nite & into tomworow they say.

Ontario: Rainfall Warning - Michigan: Tornado/T-Storm Watch

    Special Weather Statement

    Issued at 18:53 Tuesday 28 February 2017
Rainfall amounts of 15 to 25 mm likely tonight.

Although some spotty showers continue to affect portions of Southern Ontario, a more significant area of showers with embedded thunderstorms is expected to move into the region later this evening. Local rainfall amounts are forecast to be in the 15 to 25 mm range. However, higher amounts are possible, especially in areas that receive a few thunderstorms.

Some additional rainfall is also possible on Wednesday.

Heavy downpours can cause localized flooding in low-lying areas, and water pooling on roads. Higher water levels with increased flow in creeks and rivers are also possible.

I Was Right, It WAS Trouble - 2nd Shovelling of the Day So Far

Our first measurable snowfall of the season!

    Snowfall Warning

    Issued at 10:49 Sunday 11 December 2016
The most significant snowfall of the season thus far, with total amounts of 15 to locally 25 cm expected.

Snow has set in across much of Southern Ontario as expected. The snow will continue today and become somewhat heavier later this afternoon well into the evening hours, then become lighter after midnight. It will come to an end towards morning. Near the Lake Erie shoreline, the snow may become mixed with rain late tonight, resulting in somewhat lesser amounts.

This snowfall is due to a developing Colorado low that will track towards the Great Lakes today.

    Some Rain Please...Just Some ☂

A significant widespread rainfall event is expected beginning tonight or early Tuesday morning and ending Tuesday evening. Rainfall amounts will range from 25 to 40 mm in most places. There may be appreciably higher amounts exceeding 60 mm in some locales, particularly in areas that receive a few thunderstorms.

The system responsible for this rainfall is a moisture-laden low pressure disturbance from Texas.

Rainfall warnings may be issued if a more significant event of widespread 50 mm or more appears more certain.
