    ...You Wash It

I normally blank out license plates on my vehicle pics as a courtesy to the owners who may not want them posted all over the Internet, but in this case, I don't think the owner really cares, LOL!

I think it says, "I need a job" on the side, but I'm not positive.

    Taken through my filthy windshield.

    Paramount Theatre, Newcastle under construction

View of the Paramount Theatre under construction, looking towards Pilgrim Street, Newcastle upon Tyne, c1930 (TWAM ref. DX1677/1/1).

The Odeon Cinema opened on Pilgrim Street, Newcastle upon Tyne on 7 September 1931. It as originally known as the Paramount Theatre but was taken over by Odeon in 1939. The Odeon’s luxurious décor made it one of the country’s finest cinemas and arguably the North East’s best loved. Most of the images in this album date from its opening and convey a real sense of the building’s elegance and beauty. Sadly the cinema closed in 2002 and was demolished in 2017.

This image is from an album which was kindly donated to the Archives by the Northumberland & Newcastle Society.

A bronze plate on a building of an insurance company in Trieste, Italy. The date of the establishment of the company is 1838, in Roman numerals MDCCCXXXVIII, four digits versus twelwe digits.
Perhaps also for this reason the Roman Empire fell...
The longest date in the last 2000 years is 1888, in Roman numerals MDCCCLXXXVIII, thirteen digits!

This writing machine was hanging on a wall, in a hospital. On that wall, people (probably old patients) exposed their various and personal creations, mostly expressing their hearts again their sickness.
Technically, this shot was pretty hard to take due to the writing machine low position on a wall and behind a glass. But it was worth it.
